What PartySlider is
PartySlider lets anyone create a photo album for a party. Guests scan a QR code, enter their name and upload photos from their phone, and the photos are shown as a slideshow on a TV. The service is free, with no ads and no account.
Who is responsible
PartySlider is run by DSense (organisation number 926 335 065), Østerli Terrasse 9C, 1185 Oslo, Norway. DSense is the data controller for the personal data processed in the service. Contact: post@partyslider.com.
The album owner (the person who created it) invites the guests and decides what is shown. The owner can hide and delete photos and the whole album, and is responsible for making sure the guests know the photos are shown on the screen. DSense may remove content that breaks these terms.
Rules for photos
Only upload photos you took yourself or have the right to share, and only of people who are happy to be shown. Take extra care with photos of children – ask their parents. Illegal, offensive or hurtful content is not allowed and will be removed.
You must be at least 13 years old to create an album or upload photos. Younger children can take part with help from a parent.
What we store
The photos (the original, a display copy and a small thumbnail), the name and greeting you write, and when the photo was uploaded. If you create an album, we also store your email address – it is only used to send you the owner link. If you give a rating, we store the stars, the text and the name you write. To stop abuse, your IP address is used to limit the number of uploads, and it may appear in technical logs for up to 14 days. We use no tracking or advertising cookies. Owners get a necessary login cookie, and your phone remembers your name, language and confirmation.
Why we process data, and the legal basis
- Running the service – storing and showing photos, names and greetings, and emailing the owner link: necessary to provide the service you ask for (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)).
- Security and preventing abuse – IP addresses, limits and technical logs: our legitimate interest in keeping the service safe and available (Article 6(1)(f)).
- Ratings on the website – only shown if you said yes (consent, Article 6(1)(a)). You can withdraw your consent at any time.
We never use the photos or the data for advertising, and we do not sell or share them with anyone.
Who can see the photos
Everyone who sees the screen at the party, the album owner (and anyone the owner shares the owner link with), and – if the owner turns it on – the guests, who can then download all visible photos. DSense has access for operations and to stop abuse. The links are secret and are not shown in search engines.
Where the data is stored
The service, the photos and the emails are hosted by Site4Now (myASP.NET), which processes the data on our behalf as a data processor. Fonts and all other files are served from our own server, so your visit is not shared with Google, Facebook or advertising networks.
How long photos are kept
In albums created with “Create album”, originals and display copies are deleted automatically 60 days after the last activity (an upload, the TV slideshow or the owner visiting the administration). One year after the album was created, everything else disappears – thumbnails, names, greetings and the owner’s email address. The owner gets an email a week before each. The owner can also delete single photos or the whole album at any time; it is then deleted at once. Ratings you allowed us to show on the website are kept until you ask us to remove them.
Remove a photo of you
Are you in a photo you want removed? Ask the album owner – they can delete it at once. If you can't reach the owner, or the content is illegal or hurtful, email post@partyslider.com with the link to the album or the slideshow, and we will remove it as soon as we can.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct and delete information about you, to object to processing based on our legitimate interest, and to withdraw consent. Write to post@partyslider.com. You can also complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet) or the data protection authority where you live.
Consent
When you create an album or upload photos, you confirm that you have read and accept these terms. If the terms change significantly, you will be asked to confirm again.
Applicable law
These terms are governed by Norwegian law. The service is free and provided as it is, without a guarantee that it is always available.
